From the bottom of the canvas a tiny concealed cocoon hangs from a vine. A tiny caterpillar is located a little further up before an explosion of beautiful butterfly's emerge out of the green vines. Vibrant butterfly's fly among an abstract colourful background with tiny shimmers of gold.
The definition of "Emergence" is the process of becoming visible after being concealed. This painting was brought to life after pondering a cocoon found in my garden, the idea to conceal and transform from caterpillar to butterfly is fascinating. I painted this piece as a reminder that sometimes we need to rest, conceal, before we can emerge again and that every stage has its beauty.
