About the Artwork:
This piece was inspired after a recent university research trip to Heron Island. Heron Island is abundant with incredible ocean life and while snorkeling this incredible reef, I encountered a magical moment when a green sea turtle came up for a breath right next to me, it blew me away, these incredible creatures are so gentle and beautiful yet so strong and resilient.
Heron Island is located in the Great Barrier Reef, these are significant locations for two threatened sea turtle species, the Green Turtle and the Loggerhead Turtle.
